Installing and using VLC Media Player

Steps for installing VLC media player from the Software Center in Windows:

1.         Click on the "Start" menu in the bottom left corner of your screen.

2.         Type "Software Center" in the search bar and select it from the search results to open the Software Center.

3.         Select "VLC Media Player" from the available list of applications.

4.         Click on the "Install" button to start the installation process.

5.         Wait for the download and installation process to complete. This may take a few minutes depending on the speed of your internet connection.

6.         Once the installation is complete, you can find the VLC Media Player app in the Start menu, or you can search for it in the search bar.

You've now installed VLC Media Player from the Software Center in Windows. You can use it to play a variety of media formats, including video and audio files.

 

Instructions for playing media files through VLC and setting it as the default player:

To play media files using VLC Media Player:

1.            Open VLC Media Player from the Start menu or search bar.

2.            Click on the "Media" menu in the top-left corner of the VLC window.

3.            Select "Open File" from the drop-down menu.

4.            Navigate to the location of the media file you want to play and select it.

5.            Click on the "Open" button to start playing the file in VLC.

 

To set VLC Media Player as the default player:

1.            Right-click on any media file (e.g. an MP3 or MP4 file) that you want to open with VLC.

2.            Select "Open With" from the context menu that appears.

3.            Click on "Choose another app" in the pop-up window.

4.            Select "VLC Media Player" from the list of available apps.

5.            Check the box that says "Always use this app to open .<file extension>".

6.            Click on the "OK" button to save the changes.

From now on, all media files with that file extension will automatically open with VLC Media Player when you double-click on them.

You should now be able to play media files using VLC Media Player and have it set as the default media player on your Windows device.
